Integrative Medicine

Integrative Medicine is an approach to care that puts the patient at the center and addresses the full range of emotional, mental, social, spiritual and environmental influences that affect a person’s health.

Dr. Elicia Kennedy, MD

Dr. Kennedy is boarded in both Integrative Medicine and Emergency Medicine. After practicing for over 25 years in the emergency department and seeing how many patient conditions could be prevented or improved, she decided to do a fellowship at the University of Arizona Medical Schools Center for Integrative Medicine. She completed her fellowship and successfully passed her boards in 2017.

Why come to an Integrative Medicine physician?

A Deeper Dive into Your Health

Most people come to see an Integrative Medicine physician for a deeper dive into their health. Integrative physicians are trained in nutrition, exercise physiology, mind-body modalities, botanicals, functional and whole system medicine, which offers a broader approach to patient care. The physician will work in conjunction with your primary care provider and specialist.

Lifelong well-being

The goal is to bridge the gap between medical recommendations and your ability to successfully implement those recommendations into your complex life. It empowers the patient to make lasting health and behavior changes that are cornerstones for lifelong well-being. The whole person is considered, taking time to listen to your concerns and ask powerful questions to help motivate you to change; as well as identify obstacles and facilitate personal inquiry.
